$60 to $68 per hour + superannuation
8 month labour hire contract + 12 month extension

About our client The Enabling Services Branch of this Federal Government department is responsible for a large remit of functions including internal audit, risk management (including compliance), corporate performance, planning and reporting, committee Secretariat, information and records management, security and insurance arrangements.

About the role The Governance Officer is a key member of a small Governance team in the Enabling Services Branch of Corporate Division.
Together, we are responsible for governance, risk management and fraud control (including compliance), corporate performance, planning and reporting, business continuity, insurance arrangements, internal audit including Secretariat for the Audit and Risk Committee and information and records management.

You'll work across general governance activities as required which could include records management, risk management, internal audit activities, business continuity, monitoring shared mailboxes, Comcover insurance activities and maintaining the gifts and benefits register.

In this role you will: Liaise with key stakeholders to coordinate and undertake processes for timely reviews and updates for corporate planning and reporting, including risk reporting Support projects such as preparation of the Annual Report or Corporate Plan, and work within the Government's Digital Annual Reporting Tool (DART) to enter data and upload information as required Be the key contact for Comcover insurance queries and coordinate the annual insurance questionnaire Maintain the gifts and benefits register and prepare minutes, briefs and advice to facilitate approvals and build awareness as appropriate Provide back up services to the information and records management team Assist the Audit and Risk Manager with planning, coordination and facilitation of other relevant governance activities as required.
To be successful in the role you will have: Highly developed specialist knowledge and application of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and Rule 2014, Resource Management Guides and governance frameworks The ability to deal with, evaluate and communicate unfamiliar, complex and/or sensitive issues Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, multi-task, prioritise and coordinate input Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to foster effective working relationships within a team and with entity-wide stakeholders The ability to plan for, and deliver continuous improvement.
