$91,702 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Osborne - SA The Role The Fabrication Officer will be required to work in a complex operating environment in Osborne, SA and periodically in Henderson.
The position supports the implementation and delivery of continuous shipbuilding and is an integral part of the Technical area within NCB with the opportunity to provide Government oversight in ship construction, test & delivery.
The position is accountable for production and inspection services, providing independent schedule monitoring, construction monitoring and collation of necessary evidence certification of the shipbuilding product during its construction.
The Fabrication Officer will provide construction-monitoring activities in the areas identified below primarily at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, Adelaide SA, and periodically at CIVMEC, Henderson Facility, Perth WA.
The responsibilities of the position will include but will not be limited to: Welding inspection (structure and pipe) Outfitting inspection (fireproofing and insulation) Coating inspection Production testing (e.g hydrostatic testing, load testing etc) Pressure Equipment Certification Desk top audits; and Review of physical progress The Fabrication Officer will obtain or generate additional Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) that facilitates the achievement of Design Certification.
