The Role
The EO Security Policy Manager oversees the development, implementation, and management of security policies (in particular, the Control 79 suite within the Defence Security Principles Framework) related to the handling, storage, and transportation of guided weapons and explosive ordnance. This critical role ensures that all Groups and Services comply with the latest security regulations to mitigate risks associated with guided weapons and explosive ordnance. The EO Security Policy Manager conducts regular security audits, collaborates with Defence and Whole of Government stakeholders and regulatory bodies, and leads training programs on security compliance. They also respond to and investigate security incidents, developing preventative measures based on findings. This position is essential for maintaining stringent security standards and safeguarding organisational assets and personnel. About our Team
Explosive Ordnance Branch (EOB) leads the management of Defence's explosive ordnance (EO) and provides assurance that EO is being managed efficiently and effectively. This includes the delivery of EO services to the ADF, including storage, distribution, and governance. Furthermore, EOB manages the EO safety regime and provides EO weapon system proof, test, and evaluation services to Defence. Our Ideal Candidate
Explosive Ordnance Branch is looking for an agile and enthusiastic individual who possesses strong policy and communication skills. Importantly, they will have the ability to develop good relationships and support networks across a wide array of stakeholders. This will ensure that policy changes and updates are communicated to all relevant parties to maintain widespread compliance. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in guided weapon and explosive ordnance systems that can be used to develop comprehensive munitions security policies and procedures for all aspects of GWEO handling and storage. Furthermore, they will have the skills and knowledge to establish and monitor an Annual Assurance Program to assure the effectiveness of existing policies and identify areas for improvement. This includes conducting assurance activities as determined by the Annual Assurance Program. Our ideal candidate has a sound knowledge of training programs for personnel on security practices and policy adherence. This includes the development of training and awareness materials as policies evolve or new security threats emerge. They will be dynamic and keen to continuously improve systems and processes.
