$91,702 - $104,753 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation Russell - ACT The Role An APS 6 Contract Management Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex contract management work within an integrated workforce.
They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
An APS 6 Contract Manager will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes.
They will provide detailed contract management, technical, professional and policy advice relating to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project-management and policy development.
An APS 6 Contract Manager may lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows.
They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others.
They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About our Team Our ideal candidate will undertake complex contract management and contract administration work, provide sound commercial advice, assistance on complex policy, procurement and contract management issues, and be the front line of engagement with stakeholders.
They will manage a small team and work in a dynamic, diverse environment requiring a number of key skills including: Engaging and negotiating with stakeholders including project members and subject matter experts, and respond to complex enquiries and contract management issues.
Use experience to deliver procurement related documentation including templates, correspondence, reports, plans, strategies, performance reviews, contract change proposals, and other contract management documentation.
Interpret, recommend and provide advice and assistance on complex contract management issues ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies and procedures.
Monitor and manage contract administration, performance, risks against the contract, and implement appropriate action.
Understand and apply legal principles, legislative and mandatory policy compliance obligations and critical commercial risk and performance requirements.
