Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Cloud Developer/Engineer (APS6).

This is a fixed-term / non-ongoing role with an initial duration of 12 months, starting in January 2025 or as soon as possible, with opportunities for extension. The position is located at our client's offices in Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Hobart or Perth, with hybrid work arrangements available.
Successful candidates will normally be engaged at the base salary rate for the relevant APS6 level which is $92,210 + 15.4% superannuation, with progression to the higher paypoints within the APS6 level being based on satisfactory annual performance appraisals.

As the selected candidate, you will: Develop innovative solutions to meet business needs and enhance client support.Deliver system improvements to the system.Manage source code and develop reporting capabilities.Ensure the health and reliability of system implementation and architecture.Ensure the system environment meets current security requirements.Collaborate with project teams to transition new systems.Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and prepare project briefs.Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate business application solutions.Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand and meet business needs.Monitor and resolve production incidents and problems using IT service management best practices.Collaborate with partners and vendors to resolve critical issues and inform design decisions.Provide technical coaching and mentoring to team members.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.To be successful in this role, you should have: Software engineering and/or enterprise application integration skills and experience, supported by relevant ICT qualifications.Strong client liaison, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.The ability to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively as part of a team.Proven skills in analyzing requirements, building new functionality, and delivering robust design solutions.A demonstrated passion for developing quality code with attention to detail.Strong problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve complex system-related issues.It is desirable if you have: Experience developing in AWS or similar cloud services.Proficiency in Python, CDK, and TypeScript.Experience with SQL and PL/SQL, including Postgres or Aurora databases.CI/CD experience with GitLab or similar tools.Familiarity with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and delivery tools.Experience working in Agile teams and in unit testing or test-driven development practices.Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens and hold or be eligible to obtain a Baseline clearance (the client will sponsor the clearance application process).
