$91,702 - $104,753 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation Russell - ACT The Role We are looking for highly motivated, intelligent analysts willing to learn and seeking to make a valuable contribution to Australia's national security.
Preparedness management is core business for Defence and a priority of the National Defence Strategy 2024 and Defence's senior leadership.
Defence Preparedness is about ensuring our workforce, skills and expertise, resources, and equipment are resilient and ready to respond quickly, and that we can meet the needs and expectations of the nation.
Defence Preparedness Branch leads and coordinates readiness and sustainability across the Defence enterprise, by setting requirements for the Australian Defence Force and the Department of Defence to ensure the appropriate preparations are in place to respond to national emergencies, ranging from conflict to natural disasters to humanitarian relief, as directed by Government.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About our Team Defence Preparedness Branch is responsible for leading and coordinating the preparedness function across the entire Defence Enterprise.
Branch ensures that Defence is able to balance its obligation to meet Government expectations of the ADF in its current state, and generate an integrated focused force to address Australia's most significant threats going forward.
The role offers candidates with the aforementioned skills, an opportunity to work across Defence and with our Whole-of-Government partners to develop the ability of Defence to prepare to defend Australia.
Preparedness Policy and Plans - Manages the governance and policy development, engagement and communication, strategic planning, IT systems management, and secretariat for senior Steering Committees and Boards.
Operational Preparedness - Manages the requirements and capability analysis, initiatives, and assurance for preparedness of the current force-in-being.
Strategic Preparedness - Manages the requirements and capability analysis, initiatives, and assurance for preparedness of the future integrated focused force.

Be able to explain complex ideas clearly and succinctly to diverse audience.
Highly developed conceptual thinking and reasoning skills.
High standard of time and task management skills.
Be able to work to deadlines and effectively adjust to changing priorities.
High standard of communications skills and ability to build and maintain constructive professional relationships with diverse range of stakeholders.
Experience in risk assessment, quality analysis of mixed data sets, insights of complex analytical problems.
