Aps6 Budget Policy Officer - Use Transferable Skills To Make This Move

The Organisation:
Federal Government Department with high profile projects and genuine career opportunities available within the finance branch.

The Role:
This is an APS6 budget policy role within a growing department, with multiple projects/programs.    The role is available via an s26 transfer or 12 months non-ongoing contract. The ideal candidate comes from an external budget role elsewhere in the Commonwealth.  They are also open to candidates with a transferable skill set.  These skills include:
Policy analysis QA of financials (costings in NPPs mainly) Written skills – for reporting up to executive and liaison across the dept. and externally You'll also assist in the coordination and progression of cabinet submissions and working closely with the Dept. of Finance in these processes.  You'll work closely with the business lines on NPPs to make sure they are costed correctly and in line with Dept. of Finance guidelines.

Your Skills and Experience:
You must be an Australian Citizen, with a minimum baseline security clearance (higher level clearances are preferred but will also be sponsored) and have experience of working within the Australian Federal Government.  You must be able to demonstrate competency writing briefs and reports that might go up to the SES level.

As well as technical accounting skills you are a strong communicator, you liaise comfortably with senior staff and can provide insight, guidance and expertise when needed.

Policy experience, including the analysis and production of policy, especially if related to new policy proposals.
