The Role
The APS 5 Senior Regional Support Officer QLD reports to a Regional Engagement Manager. The QLD team works within a nationally dispersed team, under the direction of the Assistant Director Regional Engagement. The Senior Regional Support Officer is accountable under limited direction of the Regional Engagement Manager to perform duties such as:
Assist in planning and conducting formal events such as awards and or commemorative activities which will attract senior Defence leaders, government representatives and key strategic partnersMeet the requirements of the Directorate for the submission of reports and returns including governance, administration, finance and measurement of outcomes of engagement activities and events. Complete complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work, including managing travel requirements and financial acquittals. About our Team
ADF Reserves and Employer Support (ADFRES) facilitate effective engagement with key stakeholders including Australian Defence Force (ADF) units, reservists and their civilian employers. This is to build relationships by increasing awareness and understanding of the contribution reservists make when they are away from their civilian employment, the skills they are bringing back to their civilian workforce, and the support options available to assist employers during the temporary loss of an employee due to their Defence service.
Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, experience in event planning and skills across broad APS functions. Knowledge of Defence and business will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will have the ability to translate strategy into operational outcomes through the application of leadership, problem solving and engagement skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Engagement Manager and Assistant Director to support the Director of ADFRES and the Head and Deputy Head of Reserve and Cadet Support Division (HRCSD) in delivering organisational and business outcomes in line with the ADFRES mission.
