About the roleThis position will be in the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC). The AIC is Australia's national research and knowledge centre on crime and justice. We seek to promote justice and reduce crime by undertaking and communicating high quality, applied research to inform policy and practice. We conduct rigorous empirical research on topics that are of national significance.The position will be based in the AIC's Statistical Collections Program with the candidate responsible for the administration of the AIC's crime and justice monitoring programs and the preparation of research outputs.Key responsibilities:Undertake research projects using quantitative research methods, including collecting, analysing and describing data.Assist with the day-to-day management of statistical collections and research outputs.Produce high quality written material which meets peer reviewed standard for publication, for research, policy or practitioner audiences, with the assistance of senior researchers.Present research findings and assist generally with the dissemination of research, including through the organisation of events and other communication activities.Foster good working relationships with key stakeholders and communicate regularly with stakeholders with respect to existing and potential research projects. Postgraduate qualifications in an area of relevance to the AIC's research program is desirable, preferably completed with Honours and knowledge of research and analytical methodologies.Eligibility Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity.
