The Role
The 1st (Australian) Division (1 (AS) DIV) Joint Operations Room (JOR) manages a significant number of operations, actions, and activities both domestically and throughout the near region. The effective command and control of these operations requires timely information management, record keeping, and administrative governance oversight.
The APS 5 Registry and Filing officer provides the continuous presence within the JOR, supporting operational capability, information distribution, security, and information management (IM). Managing full-time and part-time personnel, the Registry and Filing Officer will be responsible for the dissemination, recording, and tracking of operational tasks and orders, using a range of Defence systems and Microsoft Office products. In addition to information management, the position will manage information security within the JOR, deliver information updates, and provide effective liaison with stakeholders across the 1st (Australian) Division.
About our Team
Following the release of the Defence Strategic Review, 1 (AS) DIV has been reorganised to take command of the majority of Army's conventional forces and is responsible for delivering the land component to Australian Defence Force Operations and activities through the management and coordination of a diverse range of subordinate Brigades and Direct Command Units. The JOR resides within Headquarters 1 (AS) DIV, located at Gallipoli Barracks Enoggera, and provides coordination, command, and control of the activities and operations of these subordinate units. The JOR team consists of Army personnel and the APS 5 Registry and Filing Officer reporting to Staff Officer Operations. The broader Headquarters is staffed by an integrated workforce of Army and APS staff delivering staff functions in support of Commander 1 (AS) DIV.
