APS5 Parliamentary and Events OfficerNovember start 2024$53 to $62 per hour + super6-month labour hire contractCanberra basedAbout the roleWe're seeking a high performing individual with a cross section of skills and experience in the Parliamentary, Ministerial and Events space.
The role sits within the Executive, Strategy and Communications Branch.
This is a fast-paced environment that requires accuracy, thoroughness, quality and has exposure to a range of staff and clients at different levels, often working with tight deadlines.Key responsibilitiesSupporting the Parliamentary section, including:Monitoring and actioning Parliamentary inboxManagement of Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS)Providing administrative support to the CEO, Executive and StaffCoordination of briefs and ministerial correspondence, for both internal and external purposes—drafting, proof reading and formatting style, including:Ministerial correspondence—researching, drafting and finalising (input gathered either from line areas or external agencies/department)Briefing correspondence—drafting briefs including event briefs, edit and proofEvent CoordinationManagement and coordination of Senate Estimates, Question Time Briefs and Questions on NoticeAssisting with the tabling of documents in Parliament.Our ideal candidateWe are looking for a highly organised individual who is able to multitask and work to multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment with proven experience in parliamentary functions including brief writing, coordination, and senate estimates.
