$83,706 - $89,659 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Townsville - QLD The Role The APS 5 Maintenance Services Officer is responsible for managing and executing complex logistics and maintenance support activities under limited direction.
The role requires the application of established work practices, and legislative guidelines to meet Defence's mission and business objectives.
The position undertakes has the authority to exercise initiative and judgement to achieve desired outcomes.
Key responsibilities include: Supervising, coordinating and contributing to the work of a high-performing team.
Providing advice on task completion in alignment with a defined work plan.
You will also review Quality Assurance and compliance to ensure value for money and integrity in service delivery, including managing remote sustainment support throughout North Queensland (e.g.
Mt Isa, Weipa, Bamaga).
As the key interface with Defence organisations, trade repair agencies, industry partnered maintenance services and customers; this role is integral to maintenance services in the North Queensland Region.
About our Team Joint Logistics Unit (North Queensland) is an enthusiastic and caring mix of military and civilian employees who are passionate about supporting soldiers, sailors and aviators across North Queensland.
The unit is dedicated to delivering essential logistics services including warehousing, distribution, equipment maintenance and clothing store support to enable military operations.
It does this from modern facilities on Lavarack Barracks in Townsville and a smaller satellite site in Cairns.
Joint Logistics Unit (North Queensland)'s span of responsibility stretches from Rockhampton in the South, to Thursday Island in the North & to MT Isa in the West.
The unit utilises has close relationships with Industry Partners operating under National contracts, to provide excellent logistics support to a wide range of military units across North Queensland.
Joint Logistic Unit (North Queensland) is one of seven Units across Australia providing networked Logistic effects in support of Defence objectives.

Experience in a similar role, in particular maintenance execution or service, logistics or other related field.

Ability to coordinate the workflow of a small team, including monitor work practices, set priorities within the work area, develop processes and champion improvement opportunities.
Good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders to achieve desired results.

Communicate consistently and clearly with internal and external stakeholders on simple and complex problems, both written & verbal.
