HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS5 level Guidance Officer on behalf of our client, located in NEWCASTLE NSW.
About the Role: The APS5 LEVEL Guidance Officer plays a key role in supporting the Agency's operational guidelines, ensuring front-line staff make consistent, informed decisions.
You will be responsible for interpreting policy and legislative content, drafting guidance material, and providing advice to both internal and external stakeholders.
This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to continuous improvement and maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities: Research, draft, and update internal and external guidance with a focus on participants and accessibility.
Interpret the policy and legislative environment, translating relevant Act and Rules into practical guidance.
Develop and update materials based on stakeholder feedback.
Provide advice on procedural guidance and practice implementation.
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the branch.
Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within defined timeframes.
Key Skills & Experience: Strong writing and drafting skills, with the ability to simplify complex legislation and policy into Plain English.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience in interpreting and creating guidance material.
Understanding of Government Acts and policy.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable Skills: Experience with Confluence and JIRA project management tools.
Knowledge of accessible design and development principles.
Experience developing Plain English resources in a government context.
