We are recruiting to a number of roles: Requirements and Collection Management (RCM) – provides the formal mechanism for Requests for Information into DIO and Requests for Collection out of DIO, in support of the DIO Mandate and strategic priorities.
Some of the duties for these roles are: Support DIO's engagement with the Defence Intelligence Enterprise, the National Intelligence Community (NIC) and international partners by coordinating collection requests.
Facilitate external requests for information (RFIs) coming in to DIO.
Support the delivery of training and education to DIO staff on DIO's RCM processes.
Governance – As a governance officer, you will hone expertise in intelligence oversight and compliance and provide advice across all levels of DIO on matters that impact the entire organisation.
As a governance officer, some of the responsibilities are: Manage DIO's relationships and engagement with Commonwealth oversight entities such as the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security.
Develop internal policies and compliance solutions for emerging intelligence issues that guide DIO to achieve its mission.
Understand DIO's operational environment and provide expert advice on risk management and mitigation, directly advising senior leadership on sensitive and impactful governance issues.
Analyse proposed changes to legislation and advocate for DIO's legal and policy equities with wider Government and counterparts within the National Intelligence Community.
Develop innovative educational resources and brief DIO staff on compliance matters.
Business Assurance, Coordination and Communication – in this role, you will provide a variety of functions in support of our senior leadership team and executive level cohort to enable corporate decision-making, provide strategic communications and lead the coordination of support to DIO senior leadership in senior committees.
We design and improve internal systems and processes with analysts in mind and with the aim of improving organisational outcomes.
In this role, you will work towards fulfilling DIO's corporate goals and be part of a fun, supportive and growth-focused section.
Your responsibilities may include: Leading DIO's corporate coordination, including for senior committees and parliament.
Designing and implementing communication strategies to ensure DIO is a well-connected organisation.
Provide business and finance assurance and advice the workforce and the DIO Leadership Team.
Advising the organisation on Defence finance policy and ensuring DIO compliance with financial reporting requirements.
Improving DIO's financial acumen through the development and delivery of training packages and guidance.
Contributing to the development of DIO corporate strategy and planning, including business continuity.
Entry Level Experience – the Entry Level Experience team represents DIO's interests at the enterprise level for all entry level programs.
We engage with stakeholders to manage DIO's relationship with counterparts in support of strategic direction, skills, and human resource management and Defence priorities.
Dedicated lines of effort include recruitment, targeted talent attraction, and retention initiatives to improve organisational resilience.
A merit pool of highly suitable candidates will be established to fill APS 6 vacancies that occur in the Intelligence Mission Assurance Branch within the next 18 months.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About our Team DIO is the Australian Government's source of expertise on global security, weapons of mass destruction, foreign military capabilities, Defence economics and transnational terrorism.
DIO provides timely and relevant intelligence to senior decision-makers – whether Defence Minister, government policy-maker or battlefield commander.
We support the planning and conduct of ADF operations, Defence capability and policy development, and wider government planning and decision-making on Defence and national security issues.
We also provide specialist advice to support whole-of-government strategies, such as countering proliferation and combating terrorism.
