DFP Recruitment are currently supporting a medium sized Federal government agency in sourcing APS5 Indigenous Service Delivery Stream Contact Officers contractors for a national program. The position is located in Wagga Wagga NSW. This contract offers an annual salary up to 12 months, which includes paid leave and 15.4% superannuation. The Scheme is a high priority for the Government and the Department, with the ongoing commitment to continually improve outcomes for survivors. The Scheme interacts with survivors to provide an outcome that can make a real difference in people's lives. The Department is committed to the success of the Scheme and developing high performing staff who provide empathic, survivor focused, trauma informed support. Service Delivery Branch The Service Delivery Branch is responsible for managing the end-to-end process for applications made under the National Redress Scheme and answer calls to the National Redress Scheme Information Line. This includes liaising with applicants over the phone, receiving, validating and progressing applications for Redress and advising outcomes to applicants. Position Description The Indigenous Service Delivery Stream (ISDS) provides culturally appropriate case management support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors aged 55 years and older, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors who request support through the ISDS team. Key Duties Apply the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018, and relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to progress applicationsSpecialised (culturally sensitive) end-to-end progression of redress applications, undertakingrelevant actions progress them from receipt to outcomeProvide support through all stages of the application to assist applicants and their Redresssupport servicesWorking as part of a team, manage a case load of sensitive and complex applicationsCommunicate with the applicant using trauma-informed principlesDevelop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholdersCode application information keeping accurate and comprehensive recordsKey Skills Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people andcommunities, including communicating in a culturally competent manner, and understanding of contemporary and historical issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoplesDemonstrates empathy and understanding, communicates effectively and takes a client centred approachDemonstrated ability to communicate with applicants using trauma informed principlesAbility to interpret complex information and identify key aspects to support validation, assessment and recommendation processesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail in reading, writing and talking about applications, as well as the processing and recording of informationSelf-awareness and ability to self-manage in a complex, changing environment whilst in a diverse team with a high workload in a high-risk environmentDemonstrated ability to self-regulate emotions, adapt to changing priorities, and work schedulesApplicants are required to holdAustralian Citizenshipat time of application and hold aBaseline securityclearance.
