Location: Canberra Position Type: Ongoing Salary: $82,403-$87,572 About the role The Graphic Design Officer in the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) Design Studio works closely with team members to deliver a range of graphic design and photography services for both the ACIC and the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC).
The Graphic Design Officer works in a small team responsible for creating and developing design concepts, providing branding advice, creating and maintaining templates, providing photography and multimedia services, and managing merchandise, print and procurement.
The role is key to ensuring correct and consistent brand implementation across all mediums, both digital and print, for the 2 agencies.
Key responsibilities: Applying Australian Government, ACIC and AIC Brand guidelines to creative visual products for internal stakeholders.
Providing advice on branding and graphic design to clients and stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes: Uses visual communication skills and creativity to support key business projects including flagship publications, reports, infographics, newsletters, social media, campaigns, corporate documents and intelligence products.
Maintains and applies an understanding of the latest design and multimedia trends and their role in the Australian Public Service environment.
Applies effective time management, administrative and project management skills to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
Has good communication and client liaison skills, including the ability to conduct briefings and advise on design matters.
Will represent the Communication and Media Section and wider Executive Branch professionally at meetings and forums with internal and external stakeholders, including the executive.
Essential qualifications Tertiary qualifications in graphic design or related field and/or 3 years of experience in graphic design.
Advanced experience in Adobe Creative Cloud especially in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Experience in Microsoft software especially in Word, PowerPoint.
