ABOUT US
The Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament House is a modern museum located inside
a heritage-listed building that was once home to Australia's national parliament (1927 to 1988).
True to our building's original brief, we provide a 'people's place', where big ideas are explored.
We share the story of Australia's democracy through a variety of exhibitions, events and education programs.
Additionally, our rich online content aids to increase understanding of the nation's social and political history.

POSITION DETAILS
The Exhibitions team takes the lead in building MoAD's capacity for innovation in exhibition delivery, and
public engagement in a heritage place. The team maintains permanent and temporary exhibitions onsite,
develops and project manages new temporary and permanent onsite exhibitions. The team is also
responsible for the travelling exhibition program and project manages development of new travelling
exhibitions.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR DUTIES
Under the direction of the Exhibitions Manager the APS Level 5 Exhibitions Coordinator will be requiredto:
• Project manage all phases of development and delivery for temporary and travellingexhibitions, changeovers and exhibitions. Assist with development, delivery and management ofthe museum's long term exhibitions as required.
• Participate in matrix-team delivery of exhibition development and delivery, including for otherprojects and events throughout the museum.?

• Coordinating all aspects of exhibition projects including:
o Project planning, development, contractors for design and fabrication, installation,evaluation and ongoing maintenance of exhibitions on-site, including maintaining thestock of supplies and materials;o Ensuring that heritage management, conservation and registration requirements areadhered to;o Ensure exhibition projects are developed and delivered in accordance witho Develop and coordinate the travelling exhibition program, including sourcing newhost venues, developing the itinerary, managing the packing, transportation, installationand display for touring exhibitions;o Manage the application, expenditure of and acquittal for relevant grants associatedwith funding the travelling program;o Working with a range of stakeholders including internal staff, staff from other venues,external contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful delivery of exhibitiono Undertaking critical evaluation of ongoing projects and implementation of necessarychanges;o Implementation of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and risk management policiesrelated to exhibition and event delivery; ensure installation staff and contractors complywith and appropriately use WHS standards and safe handling procedures.
In addition to the duties listed for the APS Level 5 Exhibitions Coordinator, the APS Level 6 SeniorExhibitions Coordinator applicants will also be required to;
• Supervise a small team in the project management of all phases of development and deliveryfor temporary and travelling exhibitions, changeovers and exhibitions. Assist with development,delivery and management of the museum's long-term exhibitions as required.
• Additional aspects of exhibition projects including:
o Develop and coordinate the travelling exhibition program, including sourcing new hostvenues, developing the itinerary, managing the packing, transportation, installation anddisplay for touring exhibitionso Project planning, development, contractors for design and fabrication, installation,evaluation and ongoing maintenance of exhibitions in various and diverse locations offsite and on-site, including maintaining the stock of supplies and materials
KEY ATTRIBUTES
Our Ideal candidate will have;
• Excellent communication (written and oral), presentation and interpersonal skills, including theability to liaise with others on sensitive issues.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of museum practices and procedures, and experiencein the delivery of exhibitions in a museum or gallery.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team to creatively solve problems andwork with a high degree of flexibility.
• Highly developed organisational and project management skills, including working with initiativeto manage multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and work to a budget.
Experience using the Commonwealth Contracting Suite and negotiating and maintaining effective contracts
is highly desirable
