The opportunity we have available: The Communication and Change Branch provides high-quality advice and support through a range of enabling services, including media engagement activities, ministerial announcements, speechwriting services, strategic communication services, video and design services, social media engagement and advertising campaigns.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focussed professional with strong interpersonal skills to be a part of a small team that undertake branding approvals and event briefing activities as part of the department's media engagement program to support Ministerial offices.
This opportunity will build on your experience in coordination, stakeholder engagement, andbuilding strong working relationships with senior stakeholders (including ministers' offices, department staff and state Governments) to help manage an events opportunities program for the Australian Government's major transport, infrastructure and regional grants projects.

Reporting to the Events and Briefing Manager and working collaboratively as part of a high-performing Media Section, you will:
Assist in the coordination and delivery of event briefing materials for the Ministers' offices. Liaise and maintain strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to support the Australian Government's infrastructure, transport and regional development milestone program. Manage approvals and provide advice on materials under the Australian Government's Building Australia Signage and Brand Guidelines. Assist with the coordination and review of event briefing materials for Ministers' offices, including logistical information, talking points, fact sheets and media releases Providing a high level of attention to detail and time management skills to ensure delivery of reliable, accurate and consistent information Developing strong working relationships with external stakeholders includingstate and territory governments, portfolio agencies and private sector organisations Coordinate the review andapproval ofbranded collateral under the Australian Government's Building Australia Brand and Signage Guideline requirements Working in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure portfolio media opportunities are made available to Australian Government representatives Assisting to manage the department'sproject milestone database, events calendar and regular reporting to Ministerial offices (Excel) Developing and coordinating event and branding enquiry responses Updating event briefing delivery processes and procedures Opportunities to develop media engagement materials such as media releases and talking points. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
Stakeholder engagement to build and manage effective partnerships that engage stakeholders in understanding the issues, identifying innovative solutions and in supporting implementation. Capacity to achieve results and quality outcomes by showing initiative and leadership, working in a small team delivering multiple activities at any given time, often within tight timeframes. Effective communication both written and verbal, delivering information in a variety of formats for a range of audiences. Strategic thinking and the ability to evaluate complex information from a variety of sources to make connections and sound decisions while exercising good judgement. Self-awareness and a commitment to personal development. Our ideal candidate has experience working in a ministerial briefing role. The successful applicant will be an organised and driven person with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills who is capable of leading other communication professionals to deliver positive outcomes in both proactive and reactive environments. Attention to detail and proven high level organisational and time management skills are critical to this role, including the ability to manage and motivate your team to deliver high quality media engagement products within a high-pressure environment.
