The Role We have an employment opportunity for a Budget and Procurement Officer to work within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) Headquarters. This position sits within a team responsible for providing business and administration support to Defence Aviation Safety Authority elements. The team consists of an APS 6 Business and Administration Team Leader and the APS 5 Budget and Procurement Officer. Successful candidates will have experience providing business and administration services across a number of areas of expertise, including supporting:

Unit budgeting and financial reporting.
Developing and maintaining financial worksheets.
Procurement of services and supplies.
Contracting activities in line with applicable legislation, policies, and processes.
Developing business instructions or procedures.

About our Team The Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) is responsible for enhancing and promoting the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program that promotes a generative safety culture and independently assures the effective management of Defence aviation safety risks. DASA is a complex organisation consisting of Headquarters elements and five Directorates providing aviation safety assurance and specialist engineering services to the Defence aviation community. The organisation has a strength of around 300 personnel, made up of Australian Defence Force members and Australian Public Servants, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD.

Our Ideal Candidate Successful candidates will be experienced Administration Officers, with the interpersonal and communication skills to work in a small business support team; and a proven record of accomplishment in customer service, effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to anticipate and respond to their needs, and to enable governance, coordination, and business support activities. Engage with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to initiate improvements to resolve complex category management issues and interpret and comply with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
