Australian Office of Financial Management APS 5/APS 6 Analyst – Accounting (Bulk Round) Parkes ACT Salary APS 5 $88,746 to $110,933 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation APS 6 $108,468 to $135,585 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation Led by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Operations Group delivers financial accounting and market operations compromising of two business units, Finance and Market Operations.
The Finance Unit is responsible for the robust financial management of the AOFM, through core financial management responsibilities such as budgeting, accounting, and financial management services, contributing to the maintenance of fit for purpose systems, and maintaining a robust control environment.
The Market Operations Unit manages debt financing and investment transaction settlements, ensures debt payment obligations are met in all instances, manages procurement and vendor risk and outsourced debt registry services.
The advertised positions are to operate within the Finance Unit of the Operations Group.
The key duties of the position include: Key Activities The analyst and senior analyst are expected to work pro-actively to achieve the Operations Group's business plan activities, perform tasks as directed and manage areas of responsibility.
The duties would include, but not limited to: Monthly financial reporting.
Financial statements.
Internal and external budgeting.
Internal and external audit assistance.
Banking and cash management.
Procurement and contract management.
Taxation, management reporting and other compliance obligations.
Back-up assistance to other team members.
Contribute to projects and activities as required.
Other Desirable Qualities A minimum experience of two years for APS5 roles and three years for APS6 roles.
Experience in financial management information systems for reporting and strong spreadsheet application.
An understanding of financial instrument accounting, procurement, contract management, or database will also be very well regarded.
Qualifications A Degree qualification in accounting, business, commerce, or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
Postgraduate accounting qualification (CA, IPA, or CPA) would be highly regarded.
Other Requirements • Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
• Security Clearance – positions at AOFM require a Baseline security clearance.
• Other checks – successful applicants are required to undergo a mandatory Australian Federal Police Check and other checks to confirm their suitability for employment.
The AOFM will make arrangements to establish a security clearance and arrange suitability checks for successful candidates.
