$88,746 to $135,585 pa plus 15.4% superannuation
The Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM) manages the Australian Government's debt portfolio and Official Public Account to meet the government's payment obligations.
The AOFM also invests in securitisation products to maintain access to finance for small and medium enterprises and support competitive lending markets.

APS 5/APS 6 Analyst - Accounting
We are seeking to fill APS 5 and APS 6 Analyst Accounting positions in the Finance Unit of the Operations Group within the Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM).
The successful applicants will work on a variety of tasks within the Finance Unit which aims to ensure the operations, processes, documentation, and functions of the AOFM are consistent with legislative and regulatory requirements and support the achievement of AOFM's vision and purposes as articulated in the AOFM Corporate Plan.
Led by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Operations Group delivers financial accounting and market operations compromising of two business units, Finance and Market Operations.
The Finance Unit is responsible for the robust financial management of the AOFM, through core financial management responsibilities such as budgeting, accounting, and financial management services, contributing to the maintenance of fit for purpose systems, and maintaining a robust control environment.
The Market Operations Unit manages debt financing and investment transaction settlements, ensures debt payment obligations are met in all instances, manages procurement and vendor risk and outsourced debt registry services.
Key Activities
The analyst and senior analyst are expected to work pro-actively to achieve the Operations Group's business plan activities, perform tasks as directed and manage areas of responsibility.
The duties would include, but would not be limited to:
Monthly financial reporting.
Internal and external budgeting.
Internal and external audit assistance.
Banking and cash management.
Procurement and contract management.
Taxation, management reporting and other compliance obligations.
Back-up assistance to other team members.
Contribute to projects and activities as required.
Qualifications: Degree qualification in accounting, business, commerce, or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
A Postgraduate accounting qualification (i.e., CA, IPA, or CPA) would be highly regarded.
Experience: A minimum experience of two years for APS5 roles and three years for APS6 roles.
Experience in financial management information systems for reporting and strong spreadsheet application.
An understanding of financial instrument accounting, procurement, contract management, or database will also be very well regarded.
The AOFM's operations support efficient management of the Australian Government's financing task and debt portfolio, and are influential in developing a functional and robust domestic financial market for Australia.
