Open Arms is the gateway for veterans and their families to access services, including counselling, to improve their mental health and wellbeing. It promotes and provides mental health and wellbeing services toward improved outcomes and quality of life for veterans and their families. This is achieved through providing client centred, trauma informed, recovery oriented, needs driven and compassionate care, informed by the voice of the community.

The Business Operations Branch provides administrative and business support to Open Arms counselling services and the division.

Administrative Officer – Workforce Support

The Administrative Officer is required to deliver high quality input and professional services in the areas of workforce support, procurement and recruitment within Open Arms. This role involves applying creative and innovative approaches to complex and sensitive issues, and managing multiple competing priorities to enable timely, effective and coordinated information whilst displaying a high attention to detail. The occupant of this position will work in a small team, with operational and administrative oversight provided by the APS6 team leader and Assistant Director – Workforce Support.

Administrative Officer – Governance 

The Administrative Support Officer is required to deliver high quality input and professional services in the areas of governance and administration activities for the Open Arms Division. This role involves applying creative and innovative approaches to complex and sensitive issues, and managing multiple competing priorities to enable timely, effective and coordinated services whilst exercising sound professional judgement. The occupant of this position will work in a small team, with operational and administrative oversight provided by the Assistant Director, Open Arms Governance.

This recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non-ongoing position/s. For more information about the role, please see the Candidate Information Pack.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to18 months. 

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
