APS5 / 6 Project Officer (Indigenous) Our Commonwealth Government client is seeking to engage an experienced project management professional to contribute to a significant water reform program that aims to respond to the impacts of climate change, support community and industry needs, and improve access to water for First Nations people.
An initial 6-month labour hire opportunity is on offer, with strong prospects of extension.
This role is based in multiple locations, including Canberra, Goondiwindi, Griffith, Mildura, or Wodonga.
Please note: only First Nations Australians can be considered for this role.
Responsibilities: Project management support and administration skills, including contractual and financial reporting requirements within the program's portfolio.Contribute to Cultural Safety for First Nations people and Agency employees.Contribute to the development of accurate and persuasive briefs, correspondence and communication materials as required.Assist in liaising with internal and external stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues responding to stakeholder needs and expectations.Requisite skills / experience: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively in a virtual environment.Demonstrated experience engaging with First Nations Australians (desirable).Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Culture and benefits: People enjoy contracting with relatbl because our business is owned and managed by people who have first-hand experience working as contractors.
