Pay range: $85,000 - $116,000 yearly excl. super
About the Role: The Project Officer is a key role within a team that is responsible for providing expert advice and project management, ensuring the successful delivery of business improvement projects.
This role involves project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to drive project outcomes.
Duties: Develop a sound understanding of the team's project's key objectives and deliverables. Assist in identifying potential project operational challenges and possible solutions. Contribute to the development of team objectives for short-term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives. Prepare project status reports including performance metrics and progress. Assist in monitoring project performance, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies. Develop and maintain productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules and reports. Provide secretariat support for meetings as required, including minute-taking, scheduling of meetings, preparing and coordinating papers and reports Undertake records management functions to ensure records are accurate, complete and managed in accordance with departmental policy. Desirable experience/skills: Previous experience in project management or advisory roles, preferably within a government or similar environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proven organisational skills and attention to detail. Experience in working with government policies and procedures. Knowledge of risk management and compliance frameworks. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
