The Role: We are looking for APS5 and APS6 Procurement Officers. As a Procurement Officer you will provide specialist procurement and contract management advice to business areas, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements and Commonwealth Procurement Rules. This role is pivotal in supporting the expanding scope and complexity of procurement and contract management activities. Your role will include these duties: Provide expert advice on procurement strategies and contract management. Ensure procurement activities align with organisational goals and comply with relevant legislation and rules. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers. Manage contract negotiations and oversee supplier performance. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline procurement processes. Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations. Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to understand and support their procurement needs. Act as a liaison between the procurement department and other business areas. Working under limited guidance you will be expected to follow procurement protocols as set out in the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the PGPA Act. The role will be offered as a s26 permanent transfer and you will be engaged at the APS6 level. Your Skills and Experience: This position would suit someone with strong communication skills – particularly the ability to write, developing documentation in line with Federal Government guidelines. You must also be able to work independently, under limited supervision. It's imperative that you have Federal Government experience from a central procurement role where you have previously developed or maintained procurement documentation. You must be able to demonstrate capability at the APS6 level in the Federal Government. You must be an Australian Citizen and hold or be willing to undergo a security clearance.
