We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled APS 5/6 Policy Officer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical policy and regulatory frameworks that support Australia's energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities: Interpret, develop, and provide strategic advice on policy, legislation, and regulations related to gas markets and liquid fuels. Build and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Prepare high-quality briefings and reports for the Minister and Senior Executive Staff, distilling complex information into clear and actionable insights. Engage in stakeholder consultations to gather input and feedback, fostering a collaborative policy development process. Monitor and analyse market trends and regulatory developments to inform policy decisions and strategies. Contribute to the development of innovative policy solutions that address emerging challenges and opportunities in the energy sector. Qualifications and Experience: Our ideal candidates will have:
Proven experience in policy development or regulatory roles, preferably within the energy sector. Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, capable of synthesizing complex information for diverse audiences. A solid understanding of general economic concepts and their application to policy development.
