APS5/6 Oversight and Assurance Officer/Advisor, Various LocationsAbout the roles
Working as a team, Oversight and Assurance Officers/Advisors champion the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) well-established 'Excellence in Compliance' (EiC) strategy and collectively support ACIC operational activities and inspection of agency records by ensuring the ACIC complies with legislative requirements governing the agency's use of covert and intrusive powers.

As an Oversight and Assurance Officer/Advisor, you will have, or develop, expert knowledge of relevant provisions of the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (TIA Act), Surveillance Devices Act 2004 (SD Act), and 1AB Crimes Act 1914 (Cth) (Crimes Act).
This knowledge will enable you to deliver on the ACIC's regulatory compliance strategies, policies, and procedures and contribute to the improvement of systems and databases that deliver record-keeping and compliance outcomes, perform quality assurance and regular audit functions, undertake project work, and regular reporting requirements.

Oversight and Assurance Advisors will directly engage with key internal stakeholders and oversight bodies, including the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman (Ombudsman) and the Office of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security (IGIS), to enable operational activities and facilitate inspections of ACIC records, whilst Oversight and Assurance Officers will perform administrative and engagement activities in support of inspection and reporting requirements.
