Salary Range: $79,764 - $85,074 + Attractive SuperannuationContact Officer: Trevor Holland – (07) 3565 3685, ******DVA administers the Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme (DHOAS) and the Defence Home Owner Scheme (DHOS) on behalf of the Department of Defence and the DVA scheme Defence Service Home Loans (DSHL).

DHOAS is available to serving and recently ex-serving Australian Defence Force Members. Eligible applicants receive a monthly subsidy on a specified portion of their mortgage. DVA's role involves taking ADF member enquiries, determining eligibility and entitlements, processing subsidy certificates and payments, and monitoring member's ongoing entitlement. 

All the APS4 positions are integral to the home loans team, enabling the delivery of high quality customer service and product to our Defence Community. 

Duties Handle and respond to telephone and written queries, including interpreting process and translate the meaning to client within KPI timeframes;Process complex applications for subsidy against eligibility criteria within KPI timeframes;Work with complex case scenarios and undertake difficult conversations with DHOAS clients as required.As required, complete tasks such as Appeal processing, Occupancy reductions and audits;Administrative duties including mail and record management.Participate in workshops, meetings and other related sessions to maintain and improve knowledge of the business;Participate in the Quality Control framework, including a demonstrated ability to accept and act on feedback;Proactively identify and act on development opportunities for yourself and the team; Work collaboratively with the management team on operational goals and strategic planning, andOther ad hoc tasks as directed.Senior Subsidy Advisers are required to achieve agreed quality standards within a reasonable time frame. These standards are set out in a formal accreditation program and will perform part of the team member's performance agreement. Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to18 months. 

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
