$76,277 - $83,274 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Kapooka - NSW The Role The APS 4 Security Advisor supervises and is a member of the Security Vetting team, collaborating daily with Military members to support the Army's newest soldiers and staff at the 1st Recruit Training Battalion (1 RTB).
This role is essential in facilitating a smooth transition from civilian to military life or between postings.
The Security Vetting team is responsible for maintaining, administering and managing all aspects of security vetting administration for recruits and staff.
The successful applicant will undertake a number of key duties including, but not limited to: Manage, prepare and coordinate accurate and timely security vetting administration in support of recruit training within the Battalion and in line with the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
Monitor and report on personnel security tasks to ensure accurate and timely advice in accordance with Defence and whole-of-Government policies.
Deliver security information sessions and lessons to large groups.
Administer and maintain accurate personnel security vetting administration records.
Acquire, maintain and apply knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
Communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve unit and Defence outcomes.
Make decisions within the personnel security area, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, provide recommendations and seek guidance on more complex security issues.
Research, collect, and maintain data and information to report on and draft routine reports, publications, papers, and submissions.
Supervise and provide leadership to the 1 RTB Security Vetting Team, providing coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members.
Provide security officer and security vetting support and advice to recruits and 1 RTB staff.
Maintain the ability to step in as a redundancy for the APS 3 1 RTB Security Advisors as required.
