National Disability Insurance Agency – Geelong VICThe National Disability Insurance Agency's Home and Living Division has two APS4 SDA Dwelling Officer opportunities available within the Home and Living Capital Branch.The Home and Living Division within the Providers, Partners and Home and Living Group is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Home and Living, and for actively stewarding and shaping the Home and Living market for both capital and non-capital supports.The Home and Living Capital Branch sets the strategic direction, develops long-term plans, and implements strategies in the Home and Living capital market (Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Medium-term Accommodation (MTA) and Home Modifications (HM)).You will have excellent problem-solving skills, superior attention to detail and can contribute to a positive team culture. You will be a highly motivated individual who can work individually and as a team player. The role will require you to provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge of housing support areas and may require research and analysis activities.The key duties of the position include:Successful applicants will have a sound judgment including the ability to apply NDIS legislation, policy and procedure to achieve outcomes that supports and contributes to NDIA's objectives to "build a world-leading National Disability insurance Scheme".You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks, including but not limited to:Assessing SDA dwelling enrolment applications and making recommendations to the delegate.Managing and monitoring the team inbox.Assisting SDA providers with SDA dwelling enrolment applications including managing escalations, triaging technical support queries, as well as internal stakeholder queries and support.Reviewing, for quality assurance purposes, SDA Design Standard certification documentation and dwelling enrolment documentation.Corresponding with SDA assessors on their enquiries and submissions.Preparing and distributing SDA dwelling enrolment correspondence.Contributing towards SDA Standard Operating Procedures, Task Cards and Quick Reference Guides.Undertaking record keeping and data entry on SDA dwelling enrolment activities.EligibilitySuccessful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship. Failure to do so may jeopardise your offer of employment.Dependent on the role the appropriate Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People check may be required as per State/Territory legislation. In addition to these checks, a Worker Screening Check issued by the relevant State/Territory worker screening unit will also be required for any role for which the normal duties are likely to require more than incidental contact with people with disability.The health and safety of workers, Participants and other visitors in our offices is our highest priority. A number of roles, activities or work types within the National Disability Insurance Agency are covered by government Health Orders or Directives that require mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations. The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community. This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as providing information about what support is provided by each state and territory government. The NDIS now supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and supports they need. This includes supporting approximately 80,000 children with developmental delay, ensuring they receive supports early so that they achieve the best outcomes throughout their lives.
