About the role: Personnel and Security Support Officers are responsible for supporting protective security operations and providing advice to department's Executive and staff in accordance with Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and agency-specific risks.
These roles are an exciting opportunity to assist in driving a contemporary security culture in a diverse organisation. The duties of this position may require interstate travel and on-call arrangements outside normal business hours. The position requires its occupant to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity, professionalism and impartiality in carrying out their duties.
Duties: Providing a broad range of administrative support to the Security Section in support of the department's obligations and requirements under the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Liaising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on protective security policies, guidelines and procedures Facilitating the collection and maintenance of accurate Security holdings, including various Security database and the departments' records management system. Perform research and analysis activities and report on findings. Identify issues and contribute to the resolution of issues and problems
Required experience/skills: An ability to research and interpret information Demonstrated ability to consider and effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment, including utilising a positive and proactive approach to problem solving. Is able to undertake a wide variety of Protective Security tasks including analysis and assessment of detailed and sensitive information. Has experience in implementing and an understanding of Australian Government protective security policies and principles. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use technology and information management systems in order to achieve team outcomes. Is able to contribute constructively to team activities and cultivate productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
