The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role in the Scheme Claims and Payments space? The NDIA is seeking to fill APS4 Payments Officer positions within our Scheme Claims and Payments Branch.
The Scheme Claims and Payments Branch facilitates Scheme payments, ensures payments are processed correctly, on time and in accordance with governance requirements. The Branch provides financial analysis to identify trends and lead initiatives to enhance the independence of providers and participants for successful and accurate NDIS claims and payments.

The APS4 Payments Officer position involves providing operational and administrative support, conducting research and analysis, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Resolving moderately complex payment issues, guided by legislation, policies and standards, and Claims and Payments Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintaining an awareness of government decision-making processes, Agency guidelines and regulations. Processing manual payments to providers and self-managed participants. Investigating and resolving outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through the MyPlace provider and participant portals. Enough about us, let's talk about you
Our ideal candidate has exceptional organisational and teamwork skills coupled with high attention for detail. You will have knowledge and understanding of administration processes, be a motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative team environment and have experience in customer service and finance. You would also show flexibility in changing situations, along with a passion for self-growth and professional development.
This role will be performed from NSW Parramatta, QLD Brisbane, SA Adelaide, VIC Geelong, VIC Richmond, WA Midland, with remote working arrangements considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
