The Role As an APS 4 Executive Assistant (EA), you will manage the office of Director General Maritime Operations. You will routinely prepare correspondence, organise diaries, arrange travel and meetings, and manage office systems and records using Microsoft Office and electronic filing systems. Within this role, you will:
Undertake administration and coordination tasks, file and distribute incoming and outgoing branch correspondence.
Operate with discretion and use judgement in managing the flow of work and visitors.
Work collaboratively across the department to achieve outcomes.
This is a security-designated position and you will be required to have a minimum of Negative Vetting Level 1 prior to commencement with the ability to obtain a Positive Vetting. There will be some opportunities for flexible work arrangements, although these will need to be negotiated specifically with the Director General and align with his requirements. This role also requires an ability to:
Work within a secure building with limited access to mobile phones during the day.

About our Team As EA to Director General Maritime Operations, you will work within the 4 person Maritime Operations Executive team providing administration and support across all levels of the Maritime Operations branch. The Maritime Operations branch largely runs at two tempos: one, a high intensity routine of current operations and the other a more deliberate slower paced planning function. Both report to the Director General and collectively are responsible for the planning and execution of all Royal Australian Navy maritime operations across the world.
