$76,277 - $83,274 (pro-rata for part time vacancies) + up to 15.4% Superannuation Campbell Park - ACT, Melbourne CBD - VIC The Role As an APS 4 Data Solutions Programmer, you will report to the APS 6 Business Intelligence Officer and are responsible for identifying opportunities for streamlining data processes across Security & Estate Group (SEG).
Key duties will include: Using Power BI, Excel and other Defence tools to generate data visualisations and solve data problems Using Python to create data linkages, transformations and various efficiencies Being responsible for the ethical use of data and interpreting and complying with legislation, Defence policy and regulatory frameworks including data management requirements Communicating complex technical information in a succinct manner to stakeholders and colleagues Resolving problems using knowledge, professional judgement and initiative to identify and recommend alternative courses of action Working collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and actively participate in organisational activities Performing data management and administration work to support delivery of activities across SEG Developing an understanding of Defence's corporate requirements including relevant legislation, work practices and procedures necessary to achieve work area outcomes About our Team The Directorate of Governance, Performance Analytics and Reporting (GPAR) enables and supports the SEG Senior Leadership Group to discharge their legislative obligations, accountabilities, and responsibilities to conduct business in ways that deliver on SEG's objectives, and optimise business operations.
There are three main functions within GPAR: Data Analytics Process Automation Records Management This role sits within GPAR under the Data Analytics function which delivers Business Intelligence analysis expertise across SEG.
Our Data Analytics team is based in both Canberra and Melbourne, with a concentration of our Program Management and Governance (PM&G) branch in Canberra.
This geographic distribution allows us to leverage diverse talents and perspectives, while ensuring strong coordination and communication within the PM&G branch.
Our team collaborates closely with various business areas within SEG and Defence, working with a wide range of data that varies in volume, velocity, and veracity.
