The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) is looking for Compensation Support Officers (CSOs), Delegates, and Team Leaders.
The current roles to be filled are in Brisbane, Townsville, and Broadbeach locations; however, this register may be used to fill other vacancies as they arise across Australia.
CSOs primarily start claims by conducting an open-door call with the client or representative to better understand what benefits they are seeking. CSOs will review the claim, determine if any further information is needed, and then request that information. CSOs will manage these claims until all the information has been returned and they can transfer the claim to a delegate to finalize.
CSOs may also deliver a range of divisional support functions by telephone and in writing. Other tasks may include triaging inquiries, correspondence management, and administrative support to various compensation-related programs.

Processing Branch is a multi-disciplinary branch within DVA responsible for the management and assessment of compensation claims.
Initially, roles will be offered as a 12-month non-ongoing position with a very real opportunity for permanent recruitment. Many applicants who have started with us over the last year in a non-ongoing role are now permanent staff with the Department.

Eligibility : Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
