APS4 - Claims Support Officer & APS5 - Claims DelegateThe Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) exists to meet the Nation's commitment to care for our veteran and defence service community—the men and women who have served Australia in times of war and conflict as well as peacetime. We do this through programs of care, compensation, commemoration, income support and support services. Our aim is to ensure enhanced self-sufficiency, quality of life, financial wellbeing and community recognition for those we support.
The Client Benefits Division (CBD) delivers products and services to give effect to defined DVA policy outcomes. The Division is responsible for case management including registration, assessments, determinations and reconsiderations, as well as operational support activities such as quality assurance and compliance, performance reporting, and business improvement.

Development opportunities and flexibilityThese roles are a perfect gateway into a career with the APS. There are growth opportunities within the roles and also at higher levels once skills have been developed. Many previous successful applicants have used their performance in these roles as a launching pad to a varied career both within our department and the wider APS. The roles accommodate work from home arrangements, flexible time and generous leave provisions. The roles are high paced and challenging but immensely rewarding as you see in real-time, the positive impact you can have on a veteran's well-being.
Successful applicants - The application and interview process will establish both a non-ongoing and ongoing merit pool. Initially roles will be offered as an 18-month non-ongoing position with a very real opportunity for that to become ongoing as the contract progresses. Many applicants who have started with us over the last year in a non-ongoing role are now permanent staff with the Department.
We intend to move quickly as we know organisations can draw out job application processes, but you will not be waiting long to hear from us. We value your time. If you feel you have the skills required for this position and an interest in developing a career with DVA and the APS, we encourage you to submit an application and we promise not to keep you waiting.
