Aps4 / Aps5 Statutory Oversight Officer

The Statutory Oversight team is responsible for providing expert advice on the application of statutory processes to business areas within Comcare and acts as Comcare's liaison with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and the Commonwealth Ombudsman. The team is responsible for receiving Public Interest Disclosures (PID) and co-ordinating PID investigations.
Statutory Oversight is also responsible for managing all Comcare's escalated complaints.
Statutory Oversight team actively promotes Privacy and develops Comcare-wide privacy training and is responsible for ensuring Privacy Impact Assessments are completed and that Comcare's activities are consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 . 
The team also facilitates administrative access to personal information under the statutory requirements in the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act).
Overview of the Role APS Level 4 - Statutory Oversight Officer is responsible for managing a case load of various requests including: 
Processing routine Freedom of Information requests. Undertaking routine privacy matters. Processing requests for claim information under the SRC Act Ad-hoc matters and administration tasks assist the team, Assistant Director and Director. Ensure work complies with internal and external policies, procedures and guidelines. APS Level 5 -Statutory Oversight Officer is responsible for managing a case load of various requests including: 
Processing routine and occasionally complex Freedom of Information requests. Undertaking routine and occasionally complex privacy matters. Undertaking quality assurance across a range of matters for the team Processing requests for claim information under the SRC Act Ad-hoc matters and administration tasks to assist the team, Assistant Director and Director. Ensure work complies with internal and external policies, procedures and guidelines. Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment Character clearance (police records check). Health clearance. Six months probationary period for new engagements.
