The Role

As an APS4/5 Procurement Officers will provide specialist procurement and contract management advice to business areas, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements and Commonwealth Procurement Rules. This role is pivotal in supporting the expanding scope and complexity of procurement and contract management activities.

Your Role Will Include These Duties

Conducting thorough reviews of procurement documentation, including purchase requisitions, quotations, and contracts.Ensuring compliance with organisational procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Verifying accuracy and completeness of procurement documents, including pricing, specifications, and terms and conditions.Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues in procurement processes.Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and clarify procurement requirements.Establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including liaison, negotiation, and consultation.Providing high-level administrative and procurement support and managing confidential and sensitive information.Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Guidelines, Procurement Policy and procedures, and ensuring value for money-based outcomes.Identifying opportunities for improvements and contributing to the continuous development of procurement processes.Providing internal and external stakeholders with quality and timely advice.

Working under limited guidance you will be expected to follow procurement protocols as set out in the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the PGPA Act.

The role will be offered for an initial term of 6 months on a hourly rate contract basis and you will be engaged at the APS4/5 level. There is the potential for this role to be extended in the future.

Your Skills And Experience

This position would suit someone with strong communication skills - particularly the ability to write, developing documentation in line with Federal Government guidelines. You must also be able to work independently, under limited supervision.

It's imperative that you have Federal Government experience from a central procurement role where you have previously developed or maintained procurement documentation. You must be able to demonstrate capability at the APS5/6 level in the Federal Government.

You must be an Australian Citizen and hold or be willing to undergo a security clearance.
