The Defence Service Homes (DSH) Insurance Scheme is a national scheme providing home building insurance to eligible veterans, war widows and Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel.
The team consists of five core business areas that include Products, Pricing and Underwriting, Sales and Policy, Claims, Marketing and Communications and Finance and Accounts.
The Sales & Policy team are responsible for providing general advice to clients on their home and other insurance needs.
They respond to enquiries from clients, both written and over the phone, provide quotes and sell policies for a range of general insurance products.
This includes the DSH Insurance home building residential insurance policy, which is exclusively for those who have served in the Australian Defence Force.
As an Insurance Assistant, you will use attention to detail and data entry skills to maintain policy administration together with your communication and interpersonal skills to help DSH Insurance deliver on its goals.
In the role, you will be required to manage administrative functions and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to work on process efficiencies and data validation.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
