About the role:
In this newly created role, reporting to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer and working closely with the Operations team, the Approvals Lead will manage approvals within a framework of understanding current relevant guidelines, planning frameworks and Acts.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
Develop and maintain approvals strategies that are aligned to, and prioritised in accordance with, broader business objectives
Provide planning, approvals, and associated technical advice to the business to support their permits and projects
Monitor Commonwealth and State legislation for relevant changes and risks
Accountable for external reporting to regulating bodies where required
Lead a small team to administer all in-house approvals and information, including documenting and tracking compliance against the project approvals commitments
Engage with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Company as appropriate to build and maintain existing relationships with government agencies
Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Government as required Maintain database of Government Submissions for each title
Appoint and manage external consultants through the preparation of scope and deliverables for packages of work where required, and manage their performance
Your experience:
You will demonstrate a minimum 5-7 years' experience of regulatory approvals and permits in WA. We are seeking someone who is a strong team player and able to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in their day to day work.
Ideally you will also demonstrate:
Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including experience and understanding of the WA and Commonwealth regulatory approvals system.
Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and encourage positive collaboration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An established network amongst client organisations, stakeholders and regulators will be highly regarded.
