More Details: The purpose of the role is to provide implementation and management of an effective legal compliance program - focusing on global safety standards and directives relating to O1 and O2 category Trailers and Whole Vehicle Type Approvals. Act as the company expert, resolving customer and business concerns and educating the team on the latest regulations and associated design philosophies.
Act as the technical authority for all legislative compliance and product safety, working closely with our Engineering Team and Quality Engineers to ensure compliance of our products, across all of our sites.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain a product compliance database that supports the business's needs.Maintain a working knowledge of current worldwide compliance regulations and directives for Trailer Compliance.Act as point of contact for all external compliance.Ensure that all product documents are correct and in accordance with the relevant directives and standards.Submit new Type Approval requests, manage extensions and cessation of production for products.Ensure our existing Type Approvals are up to date with the latest requirements.Participate in the design of new products to ensure compliance with the required certifications.Own documentation and processes to ensure Conformity of Production compliance is maintained across all sites, including liaising with regulatory authorities both in the UK, the EU and further afield.Assist with and advise on registration of new and 2nd hand trailers worldwide.Advise and escalate Non-compliance to the Senior Management Team.Monitor and advise on future regulatory changes that may impact the business.Ensure that our BMS (Business Management System) is up to date with regards to product compliance.Advise the Design Manager on requirements/country specific legislation, based on our current or future sales territories.What We Are Looking For: Desire to learn and grow the role, with a "Can-Do" attitude.Flexible and enthusiastic team player with a passion for problem solving.Demonstrates a practical hands-on approach.Sense of urgency and a desire to deliver against agreed targets.Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly.Computer literate and understand Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).Ability to work closely with our Engineering Team and Quality Engineers.Open to new challenges and able to ask questions. Willing to accept instructions and take notes as required.Excellent timekeeping skills.Willing to go the "Extra Mile" to achieve a goal.Qualifications Required: Must hold at least 5 GCSEs (including English, Maths, and Science/Physics Grade B and above). Work experience may be substituted in place of formal qualifications.Previous Approvals Engineer experience, preferably in a similar trade (Trailers, Commercial Vehicle Trailers, etc.).Thorough understanding of Conformity of Production (CoP), Whole Vehicle Type Approvals, Component Approvals, and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., CE/UKCA, RoHS, REACH, etc.).If you would like any further information, please call our recruitment team on 01490412626.
