Graduate Mechanical Designer position available to join our SQS teams and be assigned in either NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, or WA.

MAIN OBJECTIVE: To design drawings for steel fabrication projects and to process plate profiling jobs to the Production Manager.
DUTIES include but are not limited to:
To programme all jobs allocated ensuring cost effective production and optimal use of resources, and accuracy of completion of jobs. To communicate with supervisor, estimators and warehouse staff on issues affecting production, as and when required. To ensure correct and optimal use of off cuts. Scheduling, drawing, nesting and developing parts as required. Understand and interpret customer requirements; including drawings, written specs and resolving tooling problems when required. Prepare workshop drawings for the production team. Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications to conform to design concepts. Explain drawings to production teams and to provide adjustments as necessary. Prepare estimates and budgeting using computerised quotation spreadsheets supplied. Job costing including estimating margin, labour requirements (and costs), delivery costs, calculate price, relate price to market and advise the sales team. To perform other duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor. Support annual stock take. Maintaining stock between Sigmanest and Pulse. To manage the plate inventory ensuring appropriate stock levels and product. They are to fully co-operate with the company OH&S Policy and Program, to ensure safety in the workplace is maintained.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Knowledge of plate profiling industry/customers. Knowledge of plate profiling equipment. Programming ability of appropriate equipment/appropriate software knowledge including but not limited to; Sigmanest, Primecut, Autocad and Plate and Sheet. Strong communication skills. Salary: Between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum + Super.
