Apprenticeship - Cert Iii Engineering - Mechanical Trade

Details of the offer

Whilst undertaking a nationally recognised qualification in this area of work, the successful applicant will be trained and involved in all aspects of fitting and turning, using tools, machines, equipment and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant.
You will learn to identify defect or worn mechanical components or equipment, and be able to repair, replace or modify these components.
Essential Skills: A genuine interest in the trade, an understanding of the industry and a hands-on approach – a Certificate II in Engineering would be considered favourably.
Good fitness and general health – a medical assessment is included in the final stage of the recruitment process.
Demonstrated initiative and maturity.
Great communication skills and the ability to work as part of a strong team.
Solid work ethic and knowledge of safe working practices.
Manual Drivers Licence.
Willingness to learn, take instruction and the desire to complete a full-time, four-year apprenticeship – National Apprenticeship wages apply.
The Role of an Engineering (Mechanical) Apprentice: Preparation of materials.
Marking out.
Setting up machines.
Preparing tools and fixtures.
Undertaking machining operations and precision measurements: Drilling Reaming Turning Milling Grinding Boring The details: Work & Training would employ you for the duration of the four-year apprenticeship.
Full time hours – Monday to Friday.
Full entitlements including four weeks of holidays for the year.
Theory training conducted by TasTAFE in one-week blocks.
Mentoring and support provided throughout the traineeship.
Your workplace supervisors would provide daily coaching and opportunity for growth.
