If you love the residential construction industry and want to work for a custom builder this position could be perfect for you. During your Apprenticeship, you will be provided with mentoring while you complete on-the-job and off-the-job training. We will provide you with ongoing support to help you achieve your career goals. What will you be doing? Our Host employer is a family owned and operated business working predominately in inner city suburbs. You will undertake a variety of tasks, including: Work with a team of dedicated qualified carpenters and apprentices on custom projects Use power tools, e.g. electric/battery drills, power saws, routers, sanders, planners, laser levelling devices and nail guns Comply with local building codes and work health and safety regulations Use your maths skills to take measurements, calculate areas and quantities Enjoy mteSA Benefits Attainment of a Nationally Accredited Trade Qualification Employee Assistance Program Salary Packaging to reduce your income tax A challenging role with high job satisfaction Does this sound like you? You may already have completed 1 or 2 years of your carpentry apprenticeship. Ideally you will also have: A passion for working in residential construction on custom homes A focus on health and safety and the ability to maintain a safe work environment A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle Experience as a team player through employment or team sports A positive attitude to new challenges, pride in your work and a willingness to learn Above average physical fitness and well-developed hand-eye coordination Great communication skills and openness to work alongside others Completed more than 10 units of competency towards your Certificate III in Carpentry.
