About The Opportunity
We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our Melbourne Water team as an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter, based in Christmas Hills.
Working closely with qualified and experienced tradespeople, Supervisors and even other Apprentices you will gain valuable skills & knowledge to ultimately secure your trade qualification while working in a positive, diverse, and supportive environment.
As an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter you will learn how to install, maintain, repair and test various equipment for industrial purposes, and will have exposure working in a workshop environment as well as client sites.
Your week will incorporate learning the trade at Tafe and receiving hands-on, on-the-job training.
We will invest in you over the four-year apprenticeship so you can continue your career with us, with the potential to move into Leadership roles such as a supervisor or manager in the future.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have an excellent "can-do" attitude, strong appetite to learn and genuine desire to pursue a career in the facility management and/or essential services industry.
Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:
Motivation to succeed and a willingness to learn
Excellent verbal communication skills
Values teamwork and has a positive attitude to working in a safe and productive manner
Ability to follow directions with excellent attention to detail
The ability to listen and understand customer and company requirements
Commitment to building a long-term career
Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
A current Driver's License is preferred, but not essential; and
Completion of a relevant pre-apprenticeship course is advantageous, but not essential
