As a Fitter and Turner Apprentice, you'll receive hands-on training in the following areas:
Precision Machining: Learn to operate lathes, milling machines, and other cutting-edge machinery to produce high-quality components.Mechanical Assembly: Gain expertise in assembling and disassembling complex mechanical systems.Maintenance and Repair: Develop skills in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment to ensure optimal performance.Technical Drawings: Understand and interpret engineering drawings to create precision parts and assemblies.Safety Practices: Learn and apply workplace safety standards, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.To be considered for this position, you must be a genuine and reliable candidate who is looking to start a career in Engineering - Mechanical trade.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake a nationally recognised qualification: Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
We are looking for someone who has:
Completed Year 10 or equivalent.Genuine interest in mechanics, machining, and hands-on problem-solving.Positive attitude and a strong desire to acquire new skills.Precision and accuracy in all aspects of work.Basic understanding of mathematics and technical subjects.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.Preferably have a car and licence or access to reliable transport to work.Gaining a qualification as an Apprentice Fitter & Turner defines the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson – mechanical within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.
