Are you ready to take the first step in the exciting world of manufacturing and engineering? East Coast Apprenticeships is thrilled to partner with Superior Pak to help you discover your true potential. As an Apprentice Fitter and Turner, you will be at the heart of Superior Pak's manufacturing operations. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, learn the ins and outs of fitter and turning, and develop your skills in a supportive, creative, and dynamic environment. We offer a structured and comprehensive apprenticeship program that combines hands-on experience with formal training. In this role, you'll start your journey by mastering basic fitting skills and gradually progress to learning the ins and outs of manual lathes and milling machines. We're seeking individuals with a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and a burning passion for hands on work. As you grow with us, you'll have the opportunity to advance into operating CNC machines and even delve into basic programming.   As a Fitter & Turner, you can expect to be: Fabricating, assembling, repairing and maintaining various equipment and machinery Operating equipment such as lathes, mills and drilling / welding equipment Performing engineering measurements Interacting with computing technology Using hand and power tools Performing fault finding diagnostics Key responsibilities: Develop and apply foundational fitting skills under expert guidance Learn to operate manual lathes and milling machines with precision and finesse Always adhere to strict engineering standards and safety protocols Collaborate with experienced team members to tackle challenging projects Demonstrate a hunger for knowledge and a willingness to take on new challenges Applicants will ideally meet the following criteria: Hold an understanding of basic engineering and maths principles Be well presented, enthusiastic, reliable and punctual Have great attention to detail, with high accuracy level standards and a knack for problem solving Enjoy performing precision work with your mechanical aptitude Be motivated, resourceful and analytical, with a positive attitude Ability to work effectively both independantly and as part of a team Cert II in Engineering is an advantage As an apprentice with ECA, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including: Award wages (paid fortnightly) + Super + Holiday Leave Loading + Allowances Paid TAFE block periods + Work shirts provided + Safety Equipment Long-term career prospects for the right candidate A dedicated Field Officer assigned for full mentoring and support during your apprenticeship, as well as a full team of staff overseeing your apprenticeship, ensuring you only need to focus on your work and college Genuine support for your personal wellbeing, including access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) A large network of Host Employers looking to host enthusiastic apprentices and help them become trade qualified Modern Award rates apply Access the PACT Calculator via Fairwork Website to help you understand your hourly rate. The PACT calculator can be found at https://calculate.fairwork.gov.au/CheckPay/Summary Please note, to be eligible you must be an Australian citizen, Permanent resident, or hold a valid visa that allows you to work and undertake training in Australia.
