The Opportunity: Boeing Defence Australia are currently recruiting for an Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to be based at Nowra NSW.
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is an integral part of the Boeing global organisation, employing approximately 1200 people at 13 sites around the country, primarily in support of high technology aerospace and communications systems for the Department of Defence.
Responsibilities: As an Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) you will be responsible for gaining skills and experience in maintenance and modification of the EC135 Mechanical systems and associated equipment, in support of attainment of an Aeroskills Certificate IV as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical).
Your duties will include:
Aircraft flight-line handling and servicing dutiesRemoval and installation of aircraft componentsDisassembly and reassembly of aircraft componentsPreparation and use of aircraft support equipmentInspection, maintenance, servicing, repair and fault diagnosis of components and systemsAttending training with a Registered Training Organisation during normal working hoursExperience/Qualifications: Mechanical aptitudeAbility to work in a teamAbility to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit, and organisational goalsAble to speak, read and write fluent EnglishFlexibility with working hours and locationsMust be an Australian CitizenBe able to obtain a "Baseline" Security Clearance as per Defence Department requirementsWillingness to reside in Nowra areaCompetence with Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of aircraft operational proceduresApplicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
