The Role:
A 9-month contract standalone Payroll Officer position based from their Brisbane office, you will proactively coordinate, process, and manage all aspects of the payroll function to ensure accuracy, efficiency and expediency, with a high level of customer service and responsiveness.
Some of the daily duties whilst in this role include but are not limited to:
Payroll Processing Be first point of contact for payroll enquiries Maintain a high level of service and responsiveness to all employees and stakeholders Process the payroll in accurate and timely manner to meet the payroll deadlines on a weekly & fortnightly basis Accurately set up and maintain employee records Ensure new starters and terminations are processed efficiently and in a timely manner Ensure constant maintenance of employee records Ensure all pay queries are responded and processed within the required timeline Ensure any changes in rates, salary or employee terms and conditions are updated in a timely manner Ensure EFT is completed accurately and processed on time Prepare of all termination payments including redundancy payments and settlements Prepare any back pay calculations where necessary
Industrial Relations and Payroll Related Legislation Ensure detailed knowledge and working understanding of all Industrial Instruments that govern the business Keep up to date with any legislation changes, including but not limited to superannuation, workers compensation, terminations, leave etc Promptly advise and communicate to the business any changes that may affect employees Liaise with third party agencies regarding pay matters such as salary, PAYG and employment details (eg financial institutions, ATO, Centrelink, Child Support Agency, superannuation funds etc) Maintain strict confidence on matters pertaining to employee's pay, condition and personal information The Candidate:
Technical Skills / Qualifications Working knowledge and experience of HRIS/Payroll/Rostering platforms Experience with a Time & Attendance (T&A) system Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience / Requirements Experience with high volume payroll and T&A in a large operating business Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and customer service skills Flexible and adaptable, highly organised and timeline driven Open to change, challenges and improvement High level of initiative and drive High level of customer service and responsiveness EXPERIENCE WITH SAGE MICROPAY & KRONOS WILL BE HIGHLY REGARDED!!
