Montessori Care is a registered NDIS service provider of in-home aged care and disability supports. We are currently seeking enthusiastic Applied Behavior Analysis Therapists to join our diverse team in Greater Sydney NSW. The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist plays a vital role in providing direct behavioral intervention and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges in NDIS and home care settings. Working under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or qualified supervisor, the ABA Therapist implements behavior intervention plans and assists clients in developing essential skills to improve their quality of life. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one behavioral intervention and support to clients based on established behavior intervention plans (BIPs) designed by the BCBA or supervisor. Collect accurate and reliable data on client behavior, skill acquisition, and progress towards goals using prescribed data collection methods and tools. Collaborate with the BCBA, supervisor, caregivers, and other members of the care team to ensure consistency and coordination in implementing behavior support plans. Assist clients in practicing and mastering targeted skills through structured teaching methods, prompting techniques, and positive reinforcement. Recognise and respond to challenging behaviors or crisis situations effectively, using appropriate de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge of ABA principles, intervention techniques, and best practices. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, behavior analysis, or a related field (preferred). Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or behavioral challenges. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and caregivers. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting individuals with special needs. Ability to follow directions, implement intervention plans accurately, and maintain professionalism in challenging situations. Willingness to undergo background checks and obtain relevant certifications or clearances as required.
